Types of insurance

  • Swiss Life FlexSave Invest is a traditional life insurance product with index participation in either pillar 3a or pillar 3b.

Your premiums

  • One-off premium in CHF, minimum premium CHF 50 000 (plus stamp duty in pillar 3b)

 

In the event of survival

  • Guaranteed endowment sum plus accumulated participation gains and bonuses.

In the event of death

  • Guaranteed lump-sum death benefit plus accumulated participation gains and bonuses.

 

Loans

  • Possible in pillar 3b

Beneficiary designation

  • Pillar 3b: at your discretion
  • Pillar 3a: set by law

Early withdrawal

  • Possible in pillar 3a

Pledging

  • Possible (restricted by law in pillar 3a)

Tax advantages

Pillar 3a:

  • In the event of survival or death: The lump-sum benefit is treated separately from other income and taxed at a reduced rate of income tax.
  • During the contract term: no income or wealth tax
  • Premiums can be deducted from taxable income up to the statutory maximum amount.

Pillar 3b:

  • In the event of survival or death: no income tax
  • During the contract term: wealth tax on the surrender value

The key period for participation is from 1 February until 31 January of the following year (“participation year”). At the end of a participation year, the current level of each index in the Index-Basket is compared with its level at the beginning of the participation year.If the level is higher at the end of a participation year than at the beginning, this results in a positive amount for the index participation. The individual positive amounts are added together in accordance with their weighting in the Index-Basket to calculate the Index-Basket’s performance. If an index does not achieve a positive performance, it is valued at 0.

The qualifying annual index performance for the individual indices is limited to a maximum amount (cap). This value is independent of the market environment and can be adjusted annually as at the participation key date. 

With Swiss Life FlexSave you participate in the positive development of the Index-Basket, comprising renowned indices.For the period from 1 February 2020 until 31 January 2021, the maximum qualifying annual index performance is 2.70%

The Index-Basket will be composed as follows:
SMI: 20% / S&P 500: 20% / EuroStoxx 50: 20% / Nikkei: 20% / FTSE 100: 20%
