Questions and answers on legal security

With an advance care directive, you appoint a representative for all personal, financial and legal matters in the event of a lack of capacity of judgement.

With a living will you decide self-determinedly what happens in the event of your death.

If you lose capacity of judgement, your relatives cannot automatically take decisions about your legal interests. It is therefore important that you set out your wishes at an early stage in an advance care directive.
