As of this year, the uniform salary reporting procedure (ELM) has also been available for occupational pensions. Swiss Life is one of the first providers to be able to receive your salary data directly from the payroll accounting system without you having to report it separately.
1. Compatibility: ensure that your payroll accounting system supports at least the ELM standard
5.0. Update it if necessary.
2. Registration: Register here and receive your insurance profile.
3. Set-up: enter Swiss Life as the data recipient in your payroll accounting system with the information from the insurance profile. File the BVG/LPP code for all employees.
4. Getting started: send the desired notifications to Swiss Life with just a click of the mouse.

ELM makes it easy to send the following notifications directly to Swiss Life - simple, fast and convenient:
- Salary changes
- Changes in level of employment
- Changes of address
- Personal data changes
- Annual updates
- New joiners
- Leavers (incl. retirement, disability, death)
- Start/end of salary interruption
- Changes in groups of insured persons / plans
You will immediately receive confirmation of the new BVG/LPP contributions after notifying us of the changes.
When using ELM version 5.0, certain information cannot yet be transmitted completely or correctly from a technical perspective. The complete and correct reporting of this information is only possible from version 5.2 onwards.
Therefore, corresponding assumptions apply to the following changes when using ELM version 5.0:
- New joinerUnless otherwise specified, the new employee is assumed to be 100% capable of working. If this is not the case, please contact Swiss Life Customer Services.
- Start of salary interruptionIt is assumed that the person in question is insured without additional risk. If this is not the case, please contact Swiss Life Customer Services.
You will need payroll accounting software that is at least up to Swissdec ELM 5.0 standard, as well as SuperUser access.
Simulations or cancellations can only be made via Customer Services. Please contact your Customer Services representative for .assistence.
The BVG/LPP code is required for processing notifications, in particular for allocating the group of insured persons.
You will receive the BVG/LPP code after registering for ELM.
SuperUser access is reduced, but remains open for information and selected business cases/changes.
